Camera Ready Artwork
started business in a print shop doing
pre-press graphics work. We would produce the artwork on the
computer, print directly to colour separated film which would then
be used to create the 4 colour plates for the printing press. When
the Internet made it's appearance we simply changed the media we
were printing on and started creating web pages.
We still do artwork for print jobs including
magazine ads, newspaper ads, brochures, posters, etc as well as special services such as large format print (below left &
middle: we did a transport truck and five large doors for
Hot Knots Marina in Orillia.)
Marketing Consistency
Lately we have done both the print campaign and
the web sites for two of our customers,
Angel's Body Cleanse (above
left - brochure and website) and
Careers for Inclusion (above right - brochure, business cards and website). We believe this
consistency is important in customer recognition and branding. This
does however require a little planning - the resolution of images on
the web are generally 72 dots per inch and are in many formats (jpg,
gif, png etc) Print requires an image resolution of at least 300
dots per inch. Since you can't make small images large without all
kinds of distortion you have to start with large images. Shrink them
down for use on the web and store the originals for print work.
